The main goal is to ensure healthcare: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to ensure the desired healthcare of the people in hospitals in the country. He said, our goal is to ensure proper health care so that the common people can get desired treatment from other hospitals of the country including Dhaka Medical College.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave these directives while presenting her model during her expansion and modernization of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in Tejgaon office on Thursday.

Sheikh Hasina said the government wants to modernize Dhaka Medical College and Hospital through modernization where there will be various modern amenities and adequate open spaces. It is also important to create better weather and to ensure the fire extinguishing equipment as well as a quick and safe exit if the fire occurs. The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to develop Dhaka Medical College and Hospital as an organization with an environmentally friendly and visually impaired medical care facility.

Highlighting the government's steps for the development of health sector, the Prime Minister said her government is working relentlessly to improve the health of the country and to bring healthcare to the doorstep of the general public. In the government for the first time from '96 to 2001 ', he mentioned about establishing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University as the country's first medical university.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim, State Minister for Health, Zahid Malik and the Health Ministry officials were present at that time.
